Our tickets are priced so that we can cover the costs of running the conventions. However, we don’t want the ticket cost to prevent people from attending. If the cost of a ticket is unaffordable for you, please let our admin team know…

Exodus is a great book - not just for its big stories and dramas, but for what it shows us about God:

He is the faithful Lord who rescues his people to be in relationship with him. Join us as we dive into Exodus to know the Lord better. My prayer is that we would come away with greater joy and confidence in Him and a deeper longing to dwell in His presence.

It’s that time again. Time to put the date for the Northern Women’s Convention in your diary and book your ticket.

It’s time to enjoy a Saturday away from your usual routines to be with Christian women from churches across the North of England. Year after year, it has proven to be an encouragement and joy as we gather together to listen to God’s word, be built up as we sing His praises and refresh our souls. Our programme will give time for fellowship, conversation and lots of coffee! 10ofthose partner with us and bring various books and resources to browse or buy at their extensive bookstall.

This year, we are pleased to be joined by Anja Schmidt, who will teach us from the book of Exodus. We will discover more of our great God, who rescues us, to have a relationship with him. How precious and amazing it is to consider that our Almighty Creator God longs for us to know him and worship him.

We are running two identical events, so check the dates and consider who else might like to come with you. Why not arrange a group from your church and make it a day out together?

We pray that this day will serve women of all ages and stages as we seek to know Jesus more and walk with him.

Chair of the Northern Women’s Convention

Anja Schmidt

Anja lives in London where she serves as the senior women’s minister at Euston Church. She grew up in Germany near the Swiss border, which explains her passion for hiking in the mountains. Seminars

Seminar 1

Everyday Joy

Audrey Patterson

We know that God is good and trustworthy. But when life is hard, we can struggle to hold on to this. And when life is good, we are tempted to forget him. We’ll think together about how we can not just know God but actually enjoy him in the ups and downs of everyday life. So whether we currently feel that we are down in the valley or high on the mountain top or simply somewhere in between, we will be equipped to ‘delight ourselves in the Lord’.

Seminar 2

Everyday Freedom

Joy Evans

It’s hard to think of anyone whose life has not been influenced by social media over the past two decades. Whether we are posting photos of our breakfast or searching for hacks to help with motherhood. This seminar will help us think through whether these technologies can be harnessed in good ways for evangelism and discipleship, or if we are scrolling ourselves to distraction and ill-discipline. We will seek to reflect on how social media is forming us, our family, friends and those we serve and, or lead.

Seminar 3

Everyday Love

Rachel Griffiths

Living out your Christian Life in a ‘blended family’ can be complicated. In this session, Rachel will help us to think about how to honour Jesus, drawing from her own experience as a stepmum. The session won’t be recorded and will be a chance to meet others in your situation, or to think about how to support a friend.

Seminar 4

Reading the Law

Anja Schmidt

The Law of Moses (i.e. the first five books of the Bible) is often neglected and we find it hard to read, and yet it is foundational to the whole Bible story. Its big message is that God wants us to dwell with Him forever through faith in Christ. It’s not surprising then that Jesus taught his disciples about himself on the road to Emmaus by beginning with the Law of Moses. In this seminar, I’m hoping to unpack the big picture of the Law for us to warm our hearts about dwelling with God through Christ and to help us be more confident and excited about reading the law.
