Nothing quite beats a warm welcome home – especially when we’re weary after a long journey. But better yet is the even greater welcome we have to look forward to: that of the Lord Jesus when He ushers us into his kingdom.

We’d love you to join us in Stockton-on-Tees as Agnes Brough, our main speaker, opens up the gospel of Luke to explain God’s teaching on it…

Luke is a gospel that speaks of Jesus’ expansive welcome to the outsider – those who would assume to be beyond the reach of His kingdom. But it’s also a challenge to those who would assume to be ‘in’ as well. We’ll see both of these themes in our passages as we wonder at the glory of the Lord Jesus and the glory of our final destination: the abundant heavenly banquet.

We have a wide range of seminars to choose from that aim to challenge and equip us as we seek to live for the Lord Jesus. Some of us will be exploring the enigma of artificial intelligence – and others will be thinking through how we can better extend Jesus’ generous invitation to our friends. Our seminar on assurance is suitable for everyone: whether you’ve recently come to faith or have been a Christian for many years.

10ofthose will be providing an extensive book stall with titles that complement the programme as well as many more – so take advantage of their discounted prices and grab a bargain with our unique convention book pack!

Why not bring a group of women from your church for a day of heart-warming encouragement as we anticipate all our Saviour has in store for us? Let’s sing about it together; chat about it in the coffee queue; pray and reflect on it; and spur one another on towards our heavenly goal.

speaker
Agnes Brough

Agnes is on the staff of the Tron Church in Glasgow where she mostly teaches children and young people the unsearchable riches of Christ – great job! She is also involved in leading a small Christian school. The rest of the time she enjoys crochet, cryptic crosswords and singing in a choir (and not just because they alliterate).

Tricia Marnham

Assurance of salvation and a place at the Great Banquet is something every Christian desires. How can I know I am saved? How can I deal with doubt? Can we lose our salvation? What about those who think they are saved but are not? In this seminar we will deal with these and other questions either for ourselves or for those we are aiming to help.

Tricia and her husband Charles spent 15 very happy years in Middlesbrough and Darlington before moving to London where Charles was vicar of a central London church for 24 years. In 2020, they retired to Oxford (they speak of being ‘redeployed not retired’) and are loving this stage of life with all its different opportunities.

Tricia is passionate about what an exciting adventure it is to be a Christian and about how relevant the Bible is to everyday situations. She greatly enjoys hospitality, eating dark chocolate and spending time with her five grandchildren – sometimes all at once!

Artificial Intelligence:
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Ettie Tate

Is AI a game-changing tool, a dangerous development, or something in between? Join us as we demystify artificial intelligence—what it is, how it works, and how it differs from the traditional internet.

At each step, we’ll ask: What does God have to say about using this technology wisely? We’ll then work through two practical, everyday examples to help us apply these biblical principles to AI in our daily lives.

Ettie is on the staff team at Jesmond Parish Church in Newcastle, where she splits her time between preparing visuals for Sunday services, and running www.clayton.tv, a Christian online video platform. Outside of work—when she isn’t knee-deep in planning her upcoming wedding—she enjoys playing tabletop role-play games and strumming on her ukulele.

Offering Invitations and Bible Conversations

Lindsey Letts, Lucy Houghton & Abi Young

Evangelism doesn’t come naturally to any of us, so how can we overcome our inherent reticence and the awkwardness that we so often feel when talking to our friends about Jesus?

Lindsey and Lucy have both been there! But God can use us in our weakness, no matter how faltering or hesitant our efforts and in this practical seminar we’ll talk about overcoming the hurdles we face; passing on some useful tips we’ve learnt from others along the way; and encouraging one another to become the ambassadors for Christ we wish we were.

We know the Bible is where we see Jesus best, so we’ll think about how to open it with those not yet professing; and we’ll hear from Abi who became a Christian through a friend who read God’s powerful word with her.
