The Northern Women's Convention

Following the launch of the Northern Men's Convention in May 2004 and the London Women's Convention in October 2004 it was decided to organise a Northern Women's Convention for 2005. A small committee of evangelical women, along with Justin Mote, chair of the Northern Men's Convention, set to work!

The day, entitled "Nothing Matters More" on the theme of the resurrection of Jesus, was held on October 8th 2005at The Armitage Centre in Manchester. Over 900 women gathered together for a day full of Bible teaching, encouragement and challenge. There were 3 main talks and also a choice of 8 seminars giving practical Biblical teaching on living as Christian women.

The feedback from the day was positive and a second convention was held on 6th October 2006, entitled "Back to the Future". The day gave opportunity to think about how and why we were created, how our image is now damaged but how in Christ we can look forward to a fantastic future. We also began a new seminar strand looking at Bible passages that contain difficult material for women. The focus in 2006 was 1 Timothy 2.

The third convention took place on 13th October 2007. The theme for the day was "Knowing God" focusing on the supremacy, sufficiency and reliability of Scripture and the practical implications of this on our lives day to day.
