The Northern Women's Convention
The 2011 Northern Women's Convention will take place at The Armitage Centre, Manchester, on Saturday 8th October.
This year at The Northern Women’s Convention we are focussed on evangelism; I can already hear some secret groans! Evangelism is one of those words that makes us feel a range of things from guilty to burdened and afraid. I find it easy to be enthusiastic when I hear about others’ efforts in spreading the gospel but guilty when I think about mine. When I have just read a good book or seen a great film I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm with others but talking about Jesus seems very different and difficult.
This year at The Northern Women’s Convention we are privileged to have with us Rebecca Manley Pippert: an international speaker, author and enthusiast for Jesus. She is someone who understands our reluctance to share the gospel, our inadequacies and the difficulties we face. She will help us to know Christ better so that we will want to share the news about Him with others.
To make the most of all Rebecca has to say we will be having only one slot for seminars this year, so choose carefully! I encourage you to book as soon as possible because last year we sold out.This will also give you the chance of getting the seminar of your choice. Meeting with Christian women from all over the North of England is a great encouragement especially when we sing God’s praises together.This will be a day which will point us to Jesus so we love and serve Him more. I hope that you will be able to join us.
